Portfolio Recovery Associates is a twelve year old, publicly traded company (NASDAQ:PRAA) that purchases and manages portfolios of defaulted consumer receivables and provides a broad range of accounts receivable management services. We are currently recruiting for a Statistical Analyst, to join our Acquisitions Department located in Norfolk (Virginia Beach), Virginia.

 

The day to day responsibilities of the successful applicant will be:  Runs due diligence and scoring models on prospective and owned portfoliosWorks closely with other departments to acquire data and information related to portfolio analysisPerforms ad hoc statistical analysis of internally and externally acquired dataBuilds models for acquisition of accounts and portfolio strategySearches for new external data sources to enhance departmental analytical capabilitiesPresents study findings to peers and management

To be successful, the applicant must have past experience building statistical models and have past experience working with SAS, and Minitab in a SQL Server 2000 environment.  You must have a Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics or Statistics and a minimum of two years experience in a comparable position.  You should possess effective organizational, communication, time-management, and interpersonal skills, and high attention to detail.  Excited about this challenge?????
