Position Description:Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, the Chief Actuary leads the Actuarial professional, compliance and regulatory functions across Genworth Financial. This position will provide input on risk analysis, financial statement analysis and provides pricing profit criteria and guidelines to meet corporate profit goals. Responsibilities include:· Create and maintain policies and standards for actuarial valuation and financial projection work across Genworth· Ensure actuarial valuations for Genworth entities comply with all relevant regulatory, accounting and professional standards requirements· Lead corporate actuarial organization, outsourcing activities (in India) and oversee actuarial valuation and peer review work for Genworth entities· Participate in product, acquisition and risk reviews for Genworth businesses· Monitor and manage actuarial talent development and succession planning activities· Provide leadership and support of actuarial development programs (study hours and exam raises, leadership development program, internships)· Manage the Virginia Commonwealth University Actuarial program relationship· Monitor and respond to regulatory and industry related actuarial issues in conjunction with government relations team · Champion talent development across the actuarial organization to build technical and leadership capabilitiesBasic Qualifications:· Strong communications skills, with the ability to convey technical actuarial concepts in plain language · Demonstrated leadership and management capabilities, with ability to effectively work across a large international matrixed organization· Excellent critical thinking and problem solving skills · Working knowledge of U.S. GAAP, IFRS and statutory reporting requirements · Creativity and initiative in finding solutions to problems· Ability to manage concurrent deadlines and multiple priorities· 10+ years actuarial experience in progressively larger roles, including broad management roles · Actuarial fellowship designation in U.S., Canada or U.K.· Bachelor’s degree in actuarial science or related field Preferred Qualifications:· Broad knowledge of individual US life and health products, mortgage insurance products.· Broad knowledge of fair value concepts and capital asset pricing methodologies· Working knowledge of Economic Capital and Embedded Value Models and Analysis· Working knowledge of Statutory and Tax valuation requirements for life and non-life insurance companies in the U.S, Canada, UK, Australia and Bermuda· Working knowledge of regulatory and rating agency capital requirements for life and non-life insurance companies Additional Information Reference Code:   81102Status:   Full Time, EmployeeJob Category:   Accounting/Finance/Insurance Send this Job to a FriendSee all Company opportunities
