Mortgage Underwriter/Jr. Underwriter Requirements: 

§          Relevant Work Experience:  4 years processing and underwriting

§          Education Level:  High School or Equivalent

§          Underwriting designations preferred including DE and SAR, but willing to train a strong candidate with Processing background.

§          Thorough understanding of FHA, VA, Conventional loan products as well as Processing, Underwriting and Closing procedures

§          Experience with both AUS and manual underwriting methods including DU and Clout

§          Strong organizational and computer skills

§          Exceptional verbal and written communication skills

§          Ability to establish customer relationships

 

Primary Responsibilities:

 

§          Reviewing, and underwriting loans to UMC and investor standards

§          Assessing loan attributes and documentation for soundness and accuracy

§          Reviewing, evaluating data to ascertain loan viability and identify risk issues

§          Assisting in identifying, recommending alternative loan requirements and loan structuring solutions

§          Underwriting to internal and regulatory guidelines
