Internal Wholesaler

This sales position is responsible for building, maintaining, and growing distribution relationships for Symetra products with national distribution producers across the U.S. The individual in this position will have the opportunity to work with cross-functional teams at all levels of the organization, as well as have contact with partner distribution organizations and their clients.     DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: ·  Prospecting, scheduling and meeting (50%) o Make extensive outbound calls to national distribution partners and their affiliated producers. o Help External Wholesaler capture interest from national distribution partners and their affiliated producers and pass information to him/her to schedule sales calls. o Ensure External Wholesaler has appropriate number of qualified leads needed to meet monthly sales calls goals. o Partner with External Wholesaler to administer post-sales call follow up action items. ·  Pursuing and nurturing (50%) o Meet and exceed sales goals. o Document critical path information and metrics in CRM system for sales team’s activities. o Assist national distribution partners and their affiliated producers with case design and closing the business. o Maintain sales team relationships through agreed-upon, scheduled call rotations. o Engage cross-team resources to bring quick and effective resolution to sales and services issues distribution partners may have. o Occasional travel required. QUALIFICATIONS: ·  4+ years sales experience in the financial industry, 2+ spent as an Internal Wholesaler. ·  Bachelor degree preferred or equivalent experience required. ·  FINRA Series 6 or Series 7 registration required or obtained within 6 weeks hire date. ·  Life & Disability Insurance license required or obtained within 6 weeks hire date. ·  Effective time management and organizational skills. ·  Negotiation and relationship management skills. ·  Strong verbal and written communication skills and presentation skills, including web conference hosting. ·  Entrepreneurial spirit.
