Director - Supply Chain Finance
Position Description:
Intermec Inc. (NYSE:IN - News) develops, manufactures and integrates technologies that identify, track and manage supply chain assets. Core technologies include RFID, mobile computing and data collection systems, bar-code printers and label media. The company's products and services are used by customers in many industries worldwide to improve the productivity, quality and responsiveness of business operations.This highly visible role reporting to the Vice President Finance – Global Operations and Sales. The position will work directly with executive management, business unit managers and the financial team, in both a strategic and analytical role, will oversee all Supply Chain Financial management within the company. This individual will manage and lead the Supply Chain Finance function and is responsible for providing accurate, financial analytics to support operations in the decision making. Relying on a strong quantitative background, the Director will analyze historic results and trends and work with operating management as a change agent to identify opportunities for business improvement and keep executive management properly updated. This role will partner with SVP of Operations and their team in the development of operating plans to achieve business unit and corporate plan objectives, measurement systems and action plan development. • Successful candidate must have demonstrated ability and proven success in complex international business environments, across functional organizational reporting lines to work with executive management as well as operating line management. Proven ability and experience leading and directing resources both outside direct line of control and within limited direct resources resulting in a high level of contribution and added value.PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES: • Total company Gross Margin analysis and reporting. This includes product and regional analysis.• Financial management leadership in managing the business with Intermec Technologies suppliers.• Develop and maintain cost down management process with supply base.• Total company inventory / reserve analysis and reporting to ensure the correct inventory valuation.• Business partner with operations to in the development of operating plans to achieve business unit and corporate plan objectives.• Participate in key strategic and business analysis and provide the required support to decision-making process.• Lead the development of metrics / management dashboard to drive business results.• Oversees the implementation of an effective system of internal accounting controls. • Provide guidance and leadership in the continued growth, education, and training for finance team members. • Must follow all state, local, and federal laws and regulations, as well as embrace Intermec core values and initiatives. • Must remain aware of regulatory responsibilities and remain current in technical areas, including Sarbanes-Oxley. QUALIFICATIONS: • Independent with strong communication skills and experience interacting at Executive level of company.• Proven leadership/cross functional team skills and success cultivating relationships across complex organizations.• Strong business case and analytical abilities.• Operational financial experience including margin, cost of goods sold, and inventory relationships• Experience in working with international organizations within the company and/or suppliers• Ability to manage multiple projects with competing demands on resources.• Strong understanding of Financial/Accounting principles • Strong proficiency in use of SAP business software.Education: • Requires a 4-year degree in Finance, Accounting, or related industrial field.• MBA or equivalent technical and work experience required. Experience:Sr. level professional with 8+ years of progressive experience/responsibility in financial/business/operations analysis.Experience in an industrial/manufacturing environment where margin and profitability are key.
