Corporate Tax

A local company ranked in the top places to work in Hampton Roads is looking for a Corporate Tax member to join their team.  The right candidate will have solid tax experience (preferably in corporate tax doing federal returns), a BA in Accounting, and 3-5 years experience.  CPA is a plus.  Public Accounting background a plus.

 

Responsibilities:

 

Monthly:

1)     Determine tax expense for accounting purposes

2)     Reconcile tax asset and liability accounts





Quarterly:

1)      Determine tax expense and changes in net deferred tax assets

2)      Update deferred tax asset and liability schedule

3)      Interface with CPA’s on tax reporting issues

4)      Calculate required Federal and state estimated tax payments





Annually:

1)     Prepare Federal and state extensions as required

2)     Assist CPA’s with preparation of Federal and state tax returns

3)     Prepare local business license for subsidiaries

4)     Prepare joint venture partnership returns

5)     Prepare personal property tax returns for subsidiaries



 

Other Responsibilities:

1)     Research tax issues

2)     Respond to correspondence from Federal, state and local tax authorities
