Warehouse Representative 1 - Convertor Control - Tuscaloosa, Alabama

"Position Summary: Receive, store and dispense inventory, supplies, and converters ordered from suppliers for use by various departments. Responsible for issuing, tracking, cleaning and/or disposal of converters. Major Duties: (May perform any or all of the following duties) • Issue material upon proper receipt of approved material requisition and process in computer. • Receive material accurately, checking received quantity against packing slip and purchase order. • Prepare items for shipment via UPS and other carriers. • Maintain security while keeping work area neat and in an orderly manner. • Notify supervisor of any losses or damages of warehouse stock. • Responsible for issuing converters and related items directly from inventory to Technicians and other users. • Accurately enter incoming and outgoing converters in converter database. • Initiate disposal and repair process for converters and inventory. • Receive converters from vendor and handle editable procedures for converter control. • Direct screening and cleaning of converters returned from the field. • Position may travel to different locations within Central Alabama System. • Perform other related duties as assigned. Required Skills:
"Preferred Qualifications: • Ability to operate a forklift in a safe and responsible manner and retain driver certification. • Working knowledge of personal computer and software applications. • Must be proficient in Microsoft Excel and Internet navigation. • Knowledge of general warehouse equipment. • Valid Driver's License with record in good standing within Comcast guidelines. Education: High School diploma or the equivalent. Experience: Minimum 1 - 3 years working experience or the recognized equivalent in relevant work experience or a combination of work experience and education. Working Conditions: • Ability to multi-task is essential. • Ability to operate a forklift and pallet truck. • Exposure to periodic high noise levels. • Ability to lift over 70 lbs on a daily basis with occasional lifting of over 100 lbs. • Exposure to dust and fluctuating indoor temperatures. • Work in varying weather climates (cold, heat, etc.). • Vision Ability: close vision, peripheral vision and ability to adjust focus. • Must be able to work at night and on weekends when workload dictates. • Ability to work overtime, as needed.
