Director, Accounting

Oversees  monthly close processes for WMG corporate financials and WORD Music Entertainment, including financial statement preparation and analyses, general ledger maintenance, reconciliations, etc -  

Liaise with Label finance and Corporate management executives to identify potential financial statement exposure and propose appropriate adjustments.   

Coordinate with International Affiliates to ensure proper recording of transactions.   

Supervise submission to corporate and review of related schedules submitted to corporate in conjunction with the monthly/quarterly financials.   

Liaise with Internal and External auditors, and ensure compliance with SOX requirements, including drafting and updating process narratives, and maintenance of requirement documentation. 

Prepare supplemental and supporting schedules related to the external audit/review of corporate's financial statements. Partner with external tax consultants with preparation of state and federal tax returns.   

Supervise preparation of monthly/quarterly sales and use tax, property and commercial rent tax returns, as required.   

Provide any ad hoc analysis required by management and corporate. 

Supervise 2-3 staff (including Manager and Sr. Staff accountants.)

 

Bachelors degree - Accounting; CPA certification required

 

Strong leadership skills.  Excellent oral and written communication skills needed in interacting with the corporate consolidation and analysis group, division finance and other internal/external parties.   

Detail oriented and ability to work under pressure/tight deadlines.   

Strong analytical skills.  Strong financial staement preparation background required.

Excellent Excel skills required, knowledge of Oracle, HFM, SAP and Access database a plus.

 

At least 6 years of experience with a Big 4 CPA firm in auditing, additional experience in private industry desirable.  Knowledge of GAAP and SEC reporting requirements required.  Supervision experience required. 



CPA and/or MBA certification/license required.
