Concessions Manager

SMG, the leader in privately managed public assembly facilities has an excellent and immediate opening for a Concessions Manager at the Baton Rouge River Center. Concessions Manager will be responsible for managing the Concessions Department.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:Supervises the concessions employees in the preparation and service of food and refreshments, as well as clean up.Assists in the training of concessions employees engaged in the preparing and cooking foods to ensure high quality, efficient and profitable food service.Purchases refreshments, according to anticipated demand and familiarity with public taste in food and beverages.Directs storage, preparation, and serving of refreshments by other workers at refreshment stand or circulating throughout audience.Assigns concessions workers to locations.Tabulates receipts and balances accounts.Inventories supplies on hand at end of each day or other designated period.Works within guidelines for food and labor costs.Directly supervises all employees in concessions.Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with SMG’s policies and applicable laws. Interviewing, hiring, and training employeesPlanning, assigning, and directing workConducting performance appraisalsDisciplining employees in conjunction with Human ResourcesAddressing complaints and resolving problems.

QUALIFICATIONS:Bachelor’s Degree (BA) from four-year college or university1 to 2 years related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experiencePrevious management experience in a similar venueDemonstrated ability to control costs, generate increased revenue, and manage accounts payable/receivable and financial reportingStrong written, verbal, and interpersonal skillsAbility to function in a fast-paced, team-oriented environmentAbility train workers in preparation and cooking of foods to ensure high quality, efficient and profitable food serviceAbility to manage several direct reportsComputer skills
