ASSISTANT GENERAL MANAGER

Reports to: General Manager

 Basic Function

Under the direction of the General Manager, lead, manage, plan, direct, and control all aspects of San Antonio Malibu Park. Responsible for maintaining all aspects of the park, including operations,  management, safety and environmental standards and human resources training.

 Specific Responsibilities:



1. Ensure location opens, operates and closes properly as well as on time, and/or delegate this responsibility to the MOD.



2. Ensure that facilities are maintained in accordance with Palace Entertainment risk management and safety standards and regulations.  Recommend facility and equipment improvements to achieve these standards as well as esthetic enhancements.

3. Administer counseling, discipline, and dismissals as assigned Human Resources or VP-Operations in accordance with Palace Entertainment policy and state and federal regulations.  With the assistance of Human Resources or VP-Operations and Managers, deliver team member training programs to enhance skills, knowledge, and productivity.

4. Ensure that all goods are requisitioned properly using appropriate documentation before ordering and distribution. Maintain appropriate inventory control of operating supplies.

5. Ensure accurate flow of documents to and from the park. Submit requests for expenses through designated approval matrix.

6. Maintain positive vendor relations through professional courtesy in compliance with Palace Entertainment Code of Ethics.

7. Maintain and update manager’s daily log. Record date, weather, inspection performance, problems and other items of significance on a daily basis.

8. Partner with Marketing, Sales, Sponsorships and Operations to increase business volume.  Contact clubs, schools, churches, and other organizations to assist Sales Manager/Director and improve location revenue.

9. Perform other duties as required.

 Skills, Knowledge and Abilities Required:

 

1. Demonstrated ability to analyze financial information, costs, inventory and sales to achieve maximum profit potential. Ability to articulate variances.

2.  Managerial experience in guest service industry with demonstrated ability to ensure guest satisfaction and ability to train and maintain an on-going guest service delivery.  Ability to run a multi-million dollar facility

3. Knowledge of amusement industry standards, as well as applicable health and safety regulations.

4. Knowledge of methods of establishing appropriate control to ensure staff integrity and quality assurance. 

 

Qualifications

 

A Bachelor of Arts/Science and/or five years experience in guest service industry in supervisory or management role, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
