Accountant

POSITION PURPOSE: To assist the Controller with the accounting and financial reporting responsibilities of the organization, including the Foundation investment reconciliation process, Museum month end-reporting and project specific analysis.

  

REPORTABILITY: Controller, Finance Director

                               

NATURE AND SCOPE OF THE POSITION: The Accountant is responsible for assisting the Controller with fulfilling his/her responsibilities in managing the organization finances.  The Accountant is responsible for the investment reconciliation and quarterly reporting, monthly departmental reporting and analytical support. Position will be back-up for Payroll processing.

 



QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES: Knowledge of general office skills including: word processing, keyboardingProficient in Microsoft ExcelAnalytical, Organized, accurate, flexible and handle multiple prioritiesProfessional, good communication/interpersonal skills, the ability to make appropriate decisions and maintain confidentiality when dealing with a wide variety of informationFour year degree in accounting required and 1-2 years experienceProficiency in Kintera Fundware a plusUnderstanding of the investment industryPrior experience with payroll processing a plus





PRINCIPLE RESPONSIBILITIES: Other duties may be assignedInvestment reconciliationProject analysisMaintenance of Fixed Asset databaseDaily, monthly and/or quarterly reconciliation of various balance sheet accounts and selected income statement accountsVarious External and Internal reportingAssist in the annual audit processAssist in A/R, A/P and Cash processPrepare entries for posting payroll to the general ledgerSpecial projects, as directed by the Director of Finance
