Systems Engineer, Test Development
PRIMARY FUNCTION:
Responsibilities will include development of test definition, test equipment design and support of electrical and mechanical test systems. This position is located in Everett, WA and travel to headquarters in Austin, TX may also be required
JOB DUTIES:
1. Capture test requirements particular to aircraft systems and develop Detailed Test Plans (DTP) for verifying the Build Verification Requirements.
2. Responsible for submitting, tracking, coordinating and statusing the progress of the DTP document through the customer DTP approval process. The end product of this effort is to deliver approved Detailed Test Plans to the customer.
3. Provide Ship Side support to resolve assembly/test issues.
4. Support Symtx Austin engineering teams in implementing the test systems defined by the detailed test plans; perform as the subject matter expert for several aircraft systems and provide design direction.
5. Provide troubleshoot and failure analysis support for customer production test
6. Comply technically with contract-dictated Statement of Work, policies, directives, regulations, and documentation.
7. Prepare and submit program and customer required reports.
Activities include:Creating Detailed Test Plans and Providing Ship Side supportRapid response and problem resolution for aircraft production test issuesWorking with customer personnel to implement changes (Amending Detailed Test Plans, Installation Procedures, Shop Floor Procedures)Technical documentation and updates to manuals and training materialsPerforming change impact assessmentsTest Equipment modification/upgrades Maintenance and distribution of site specific data files; Database support Technical documentation and updates to manuals and training materials
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
1. Bachelors Degree in engineering or equivalent plus a minimum of 10 years of related experience. Master’s degree a plus.
2. Direct experience with the design, integration and test of complex electrical or mechanical test systems for aircraft production and test
3. Broad technical expertise in the design/development and test of electronic systems
4. Demonstrated ability to work with customer engineering requirements and translating them into in to test procedures.
5. Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work closely with the customer throughout the entire project.
6. Airframe and Powerplant license is a plus
7. Experience with any of the items listed below would be a plus:
