Your Ingenuity is welcome!Principal Engineer (Mechanical) In this position, you will take on a technical leadership role in the mechanical design of electric actuators. You will work in a team environment with other mechanical engineers, firmware and electrical engineers to design, develop, test and support our line of electric actuators. In addition, you will be involved with the valve design and support activities. You will also direct the work of others relating to concept refinement and product test. Additionally, you will be responsible for generating product specifications and ensuring all required tests are complete and fully documented. Principal Duties: Works with minimal direction and develops approach to solutions. Creates and develops product concepts and oversees the development to meet time and budgetary constraints. Conducts engineering qualification tests on the product including coordinating with outside agencies to ensure compliance. Takes initiative to recommend projects, product improvements or cost reductions. Performs tradeoff between implementation, schedule, cost and resource constraints and recommend alternatives. Provides technical feedback, input and consultation to other departments in design or implementation activities. Provides work direction to a project team. Prepares product documentation, operating instructions and reviews technical literature. Performs related duties as necessary. Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering (Masters preferred). A minimum of seven years design or engineering experience. Highly desired to have gear train and valve design experience. Current technical knowledge and skills relative to mechanical engineering. Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment and support groups, good written and oral communications skills, flexibility and adaptability to changing situations.
