The New Product Development Engineer will need a background in couplings, as well as a solid understanding and application of mechanical principles and materials, with a working knowledge of machining, casting, forging, welding, and molding. This position will be developing new coupling products from the idea stage to the production launch. The Product Development Engineer will prepare sketches and layout drawings from verbal or written instructions on product or plant equipment.

 

 Requirements:

 

Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering

10plus years of experience in engineering

Experience with mechanical power transmission components

Solid understanding and application of mechanical principles and materials

Working knowledge of machining, casting, forging, welding, molding, and couplings*

  *MUST HAVE COUPLING EXPERIENCE

AutoCAD

CoCreate

ME10

Solidworks

 

Responsibilities include: Development of new coupling products from start to finishCreate new and improved products and processes for mechanical coupling components used in the mechanical power transmission industryWork independently on the development of original designs or adaptations requiring specialized experience.Prepare sketches and layout drawings from verbal or written instructions on product or plant equipmentWorking under minimal supervision

 

A successful candidate will be creative, self motivated, and able to lead in a team environment.  Project management experience will be helpful.
