This is an excellent opportunity to join our staff in a role that will provide strategic direction for ATK Tactical Propulsion and Controls locations. Alliant Techsystems, Tactical Propulsion and Controls Division, with an office located in Elkton, MD is currently seeking a Systems Engineer that will derive system level requirements and perform Voice of the Customer requirements analysis. In this position, you will develop system architecture, interface control documentation and system design. Responsibilities for this position include: - Perform functional analysis, time-line analysis, detail trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications - Perform system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk management and supportability and effectiveness analysis for total systems - Perform analysis at all levels of total system life cycle to include: concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, maintenance, support and disposal - Ensure the logical and systematic conversion of customer or product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule and costumer constraints Requirements for this position include: - Bachelors degree in Electrical/ Mechanical/ Aerospace/ System Engineering or Applied Math or Applied Physics; A Masters degree in systems engineering is preferred but not required - 7-10 years experience with system engineering processes (hardware and software) - Ability to learn or prior use of analytical software management tools - Experience with requirement management tools; SW development tools; CMMI processes - US Security clearance is required or eligibility to attain a clearance - US Citizenship is required With $4.5 billion in annual sales, approximately 17,000 employees, and operations in 21 states, ATK is a company on the move!
