Sr. Chemist

Based out of our Richland Service Center in Richland, WA, the successful candidate is a fully competent professional able to work with minimum supervision. He/She performs assigned duties including chemistry calculations and sample analysis in support of chemical decontamination and chemical cleaning process applications and other operational functions. This position requires approximately 30-40% of time at domestic and international nuclear power plants.The successful candidate will have the following:-Able to create and maintain effective working relationships with clients, managers, and peers;-Able to provide relevant direction to other staff;-Has a working knowledge of state and federal environmental regulations;-Performs chemical analysis and reviews data to maintain process control during chemical decontamination and chemical cleaning applications;-Responsible for ordering, handling, mixing, and storage of chemicals;-Performs laboratory testing under minimal supervision;-Performs independent chemical research and development;-Prepares, reviews and/or approves final reports for field applications;-Has the ability to operate all standard laboratory instrumentation and equipment;-The minimum requirements are a BS in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering and 3 - 6 years of experience, and/or a demonstrated proficiency in performing the requirements and skills of this position; Westinghouse technology is the basis for nearly half of the world's nuclear power plants.
