It all starts here, with you.This is a multi-layered position as an Industrial Hygienist located in Glen Allen, VA supporting Dominion's Fossil & Hydro Power Stations. The ideal candidate will evaluate the work environment and possible exposure to physical, biological and chemical agents to ensure compliance with environmental health regulations and decrease health risks to employees and the community. Identify dangers in the workplace by testing and evaluating work situations to determine harmful exposures and work practices. Analyze data, programs, and procedures to ensure compliance with applicable regulations. Interpret new regulations and advises field personnel of necessary actions. Provides assistance, advice, leadership and solutions to peers, customers, and coworkers. Key areas of concern will be: respiratory protection, exposure assessment, hearing conservation, process safety management, heat stress, managing asbestos technical writing/communication of results, indoor air quality, anhydrous ammonia experience, hexavalent chromium and inorganic arsenic.QualificationsThe successful candidate will have prior related experience. Full knowledge of general occupational safety and health principles. Working knowledge of Microsoft applications and Access. In addition the candidate will have planning and organizational skills; excellent written and verbal communications; strong leadership/management skills; good interpersonal and customer service skills.Note: This position will be filled on an Industrial Hygienist or Senior Industrial Hygienist level depending on experience and qualifications.3-5 years of experience in an industrial hygiene or safety role preferred.


Preferred: Bachelors or Masters in Engineering or Industrial Hygiene or Safety.CIH Certification (Certification by American Board of Industrial Hygiene) or ability to obtain within two years is a plus.
