Director of Conservation

Cascade Natural Gas Corporation is a Seattle-based local distribution company that provides natural gas service to 250,000 customers in 95 communities in Washington and Oregon.  We are currently recruiting for the following full time position in our Seattle Office. Cascade employs 380 employees and offers a competitive benefits package. 

 

Director of Conservation

 

The individual hired for this position is responsible for directing the conservation and energy efficiency programs. They work closely with the Field Operations, Regulatory Affairs, and Customer Service Departments.   

JOB RESPONSIBILITES

 

Participates in developing, modifying and implementing conservation objectives, policies, standards and guidelines in support of corporate objectives and strategies.

 

Participates in developing, modifying and implementing company regulatory strategy.

 

Responsible for energy conservation budget, program development, program implementation, and program administration in a manner consistent with meeting annual conservation targets, and as required representing Company’s position with state regulatory agencies. 

 

Responsible for negotiating contract arrangements with conservation Program Management Companies and/or Conservation Trade Allies.

 

Responsible for the development of conservation potential assessments and studies.

 

Responsible for the preparation of Demand Side Management requirements and DSM cost effective calculations for use in the Company’s Integrated Resource Plan.

 

Responsible for the development of RFPs and the deployment of Company sponsored conservation programs. 

 

Provides, analyzes and audits reports as required.

 

Represents Company in industry organization and customer activities.

 

Provides testimony in regulatory proceedings when necessary.

 

Performs other duties as assigned.

 

MINIMUM TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

 

Education: Four-year college degree in business, math or computer science preferred.  MBA a plus.

 

Experience:  Three years experience in the natural gas industry.  Knowledge in marketing and contract administration responsibilities a strong plus, and must be able to demonstrate ability to run and interpret the output of advanced modeling software.

 

Other Required Skills And Abilities:  Good quantitative skill, with proficiency in basic statistical analysis and business accounting principles.  Must have good written and verbal communication and organizational skills, with the ability to handle high-pressure work environments with varying short and long-term deadlines.  Must have Project Management abilities to communicate technical information to all users, as well as strong negotiation skills.

 

Must be bondable.
