Currently recruiting for: Mining Engineer / Caballo

 

Job Description:

 

Develop short and long range mine plans.  Assist and work with production department in developing safe and efficient mining methods, mine design, and production techniques.  Additional skill preferences include knowledge of Fleet management evaluations, environmental and reclamation project planning, drill and blast optimization, time studies, economic evaluations, and supervision experience.



Job Qualifications: Strong commitment to safety. Experience should include: surveying, drafting, and basic engineering. Dragline pit design, truck/shovel pit design, production scheduling, and feasibility studies. Engineering calculations for volumetrics, short range mine planning, long range planning, economic evaluations, and quality control. Experience with VULCAN or comparable mine planning software. Use of mine planning software, surveying software, AutoCad, spreadsheets and word processing software. BS Engineering Degree in: mining, civil, geological or related. Good verbal and written communication skills are required. Able to work rotating shifts, weekends and overtime when required

Caballo Mine, which is located about 20 miles south of Gillette, shipped 31 million tons of coal in 2007.
