Accounts Payable Specialist

The Accounts Payable Specialist is a position responsible for many of the daily accounts payable activities, including the preparation and processing of invoices and checks, handling administrative functions related to the corporate credit card and expense reporting programs, maintenance of accurate and timely records, as well as ad hoc projects and assignments.

- Process and handle all AP mail.
- Scan invoices into AP workflow software.
- Complete accurate and timely data entry of invoices, as needed.
- Work with the chart of accounts and purchase order database to properly code and match invoices.
- Handle all aspects of records management program.
- Process weekly check run.
- Monitor compliance with AP invoice centralization.
- Retrieve and research invoices and correlating payment information.
- Handle all administrative functions related to the Corporate Credit Card Program i.e. setting up new employees, modifying thresholds, changing passwords, reminder notices, etc.
- Handle all administrative and reporting functions related to the expense reporting program (Concur).
- Assist with month-end closing responsibilities as assigned.
- Work on various projects, as assigned.
- Provide customer service and build effective working relationships with both internal employees and external vendors.

EXPERIENCE:

Minimum one year in accounts payable or other accounting field is required. A demonstrated high level of data entry accuracy and attention to detail is required, along with proven proficiency using Microsoft Excel. Experience utilizing other Microsoft Office suite applications (Word, Outlook) along with accounting software applications is highly desirable. The candidate must possess strong analytical skills and good organization / planning ability. Good written and oral communication skills and ability to work well in a team environment are also required.

EDUCATION:

High-school diploma required. Associates degree or other certifications are a plus.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Physical demands may include, but are not limited to, the following: kneeling, crouching, lifting up to 25 pounds, typing, close visual acuity, and sedentary work.
