Traffic Specialist I

Suntron Corporation, an industry leader in electronic manufacturing services, delivering complete manufacturing services and solutions to support the entire life cycle of complex products in the semi-conductor capital equipment, aerospace and defense, medical and industrial markets is currently seeking a Traffic Specialist I. The person in this position will coordinate all of our Freight needs and determine the best shipping methods for Inbound, Outbound, Domestic, International, Air, Ground, Ocean and Rail. This position is responsible for freight costs and key performance reports.

 

Responsibilities include:

 

·  Schedule shipments and coordinate outside vendors / agencies.

• Prepare, monitor and organize shipping documents for accuracy and quality control.

• File freight claims and administer claim log and monitor overcharges for freight or insurance.

• Prepare and implement documentation and procedures in compliance with State, Federal and International regulations.

• Freight Program management, analysis, communication/coordination, strategic planning, budget/finance, and training.

• Develop and carry out strategic business and operations plans for the organization’s activities in improving the movement of goods.

• Advise and/or act for the organization’s management on key events and issues affecting freight movement.

• Lead development and implementation of training and education on freight issues.

 

Required Knowledge Skill and Abilities:

   

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to relate well to a wide variety of people in a professional and diplomatic manner.

• Understanding of "Lean" concepts and strong orientation toward safety, quality, and process improvement.

• Expertise with Windows XP and Microsoft office.

• Detail-oriented with great organizational and problem solving skills.

• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast pace environment with frequent interruptions.
