COMPENSATION:
Salary range for this position is $12.35/ hr plus lead differential ($2.00 / hr). SHIFTS:
Current work schedule is 7am to 3:30 pm Monday through Friday Candidates must be flexible to work all shifts, including working required overtime to help department meet demands. Our facility operates 7 days a week, 24 hours per day. Must be willing to train for and perform other tasks as needs are presented. Must abide by all safety guidelines and work instructions of Honeywell. All new employees are expected to work directly with a trainer and to follow this trainer's instruction until proficiency/qualification is achieved. Additional requirements of all employees include active participation in Honeywell Structured Safety Process and support of continuous improvements, continuing personal learning and training.
SUMMARY:
Assists in directing work activities for a shift or work group while operating equipment and performing production tasks. Responsibilities include motivating and managing performance of employees, resolving conflict, and enforcing/ensuring proper adherence to all company policies. Ensures production requirements are met and all personnel are properly qualified and operating safely.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. (Other duties may be assigned.)
Operates equipment as needed and/or performs production activities.Includes casting equipment, manual lathes, saws, zone refining equipment and some chemical handling.Maintains a safe, clean and orderly work area.Participates in and supports Company safety initiatives and programs.May account for all people in work center on assigned shift in case of a safety issue (plant evacuation, etc.)Coordinates activities and provides leadership for employees in a work center - includes communicating expectations and ensuring employees are properly trained.Assigns work and work distribution on a daily basis.Monitors work-in-process (WIP) to ensure that employees are working on proper jobs/priorities.Works with supervisor in anticipating problems such as potential delays, material shortages, and equipment repairs.Attends production meetings.Performs "Job Specific Training" for new employees, and monthly Toolbox Talks.Provides input to the supervisor for the purpose of writing performance reviews. Delivers performance feedback to employees on an on-going basis to enhance job performance and career development.Participates in identification of root causes and corrective actions.Updates certifications for crew, ensures SOPs are up to date and utilized, organizes cross training.Enforces and maintains company policies including safety, attendance, and code of conduct.Utilizes metrics, SPC, six sigma and QA tools to ensure continuous improvement.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

Basic Qualifications:
High School diploma or General Education Diploma (GED).
A good understanding of High School math and a working knowledge of the metric system.
Excellent safety, quality, attendance and behavior record is also required.
Must demonstrate professional demeanor, effective written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to maintain confidentiality.
Must have a thorough understanding of workflow to communicate with internal suppliers and customers as required.
Must be adaptable and flexible to changing work environment and priorities while maintaining productivity/through-put requirements.
Must possess the ability to trouble shoot and have good decision making skills.
Ability to communicate pertinent information to aid in troubleshooting or continuous improvement activities.
Ability to understand and follow written and verbal work instructions.
Capable of accurately maintaining detailed records.
PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Six months to one year related lead or supervisory experience and/or training for lead or supervisory work in a manufacturing environment.Certification in First Aid and CPR.Working knowledge of InTrack, QAM, basic Word & Excel. Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts and toxic or caustic chemicals.The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate or loud.Must wear frock or lab coat to protect material from contamination.Position involves sitting or standing for long periods throughout the day.Lifting up to 50 pounds with or without assistance is required.Continuous mental and visual attention required.Medical monitoring.
