Supplier Quality Technician

The Opportunity:Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories (SEL) seeks a Supplier Quality Technician to join our Supplier Management team to support supplier quality failure analysis and supplier quality improvement activities. If you have demonstrated success in conducting failure analysis on analog and digital electronics in a printed circuit assembly environment, we invite you to consider joining our technical team. Supplier Quality Technician Responsibilities: Review and disposition nonconforming material. In support of and under the direction of Supplier Quality Engineer, design and conduct failure analysis on part failures. Analyze quality data and recommend containment actions to continuously reduce in-process and field defect rates to Supplier Quality Engineer. Prepare inspection plans and instructions and train inspectors as required. Perform and document material purges and inspections/tests to quality assurance standards as required. Assist Supplier Quality Engineer as required. Document, follow and improve SEL processes.Qualifications: A.S. or B.S. in Electrical Engineering or Electronics discipline. 3+ years experience in electronic materials quality or Manufacturing Working knowledge of analog and digital electronic components Working knowledge of inspection and test techniques and instruments Excellent problem solving skills Strong communication and documentation skills Ability to learn new skills and assume new responsibilities Ability to work cooperatively in a team environment Background check results satisfactory to SEL Negative drug test results Preferred Qualifications: Working knowledge of sheet metal, printed wiring boards, adhesives, and plastic components Experience with quality assurance and control methods ASQ Quality Technician certification Working knowledge of semiconductor failure analysis lab processes and procedures An Award Winning Company Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories, Inc.
