Senior Applications Engineer – Solar Electric
Alpha Technologies, which provides world-class powering solutions, seeks a Senior Solar Electric Applications Engineer for its facility in Bellingham, WA.
Summary:
This position will support customers and the sales staff with solar electric system designs, layout drawings, product quotations, and applications technical information. Review system designs and drawings for accuracy, completeness and code compliance. Design and implement internal processes including engineering change orders, SAP quotation activity and technical product and system training sessions.
Responsibilities:Correspond with customers and the sales organization through verbal and written communication in response to customer requests for product use information including: specifications, capabilities, compatibility, interface and general technologyInterface with Engineering, Customer Service, Tech Pubs, Product Management, IT and Sales and Marketing to facilitate the flow of appropriate technical information and to arrange the information in a useable formatDevelop and provide quotations to worldwide customer base and sales reps Evaluate product proposals, customer and sales requests for new special products and coordinate with Product Management, Engineering and Program Management for resolutionParticipate in and prepare customer presentations and trainingTroubleshoot customers' technical problems, complaints, questions to a resolution, including interaction with customer service, sustaining engineering and product management and sales, but maintains the primary responsibility for resolutionParticipate in Sales/Representative meetings and trade shows to provide technical training on Alpha productsConduct AE technical training for lower level staff members to enhance technical coverage of the Alpha product lineAssist other Alpha Energy Applications Engineers with training, mentoring and review of their work as necessary
Qualifications:
Education: AA/AAS Degree in Electronics/Technician (or equivalent military training). BSEE Degree is a plus.
Experience: 6 - 8 years Solar Electricity with a strong emphasis on customer interaction, electrical design or support experience, and a working knowledge of renewable energy systems both grid tied and off grid.

Located on Bellingham Bay with Mt. Baker as its backdrop, Bellingham is the last major city before the Washington State coastline meets the Canadian border. Bellingham is 85 miles north of Seattle and one hour south of Vancouver, B.C. Transportation links connect the community to the nearby San Juan Islands and Victoria on Vancouver Island.
