ENGINEERING MODEL MAKER

Fluke Corporation, a world leading manufacturer of test and measurement equipment, seeks a talented professional to work in a fast-paced & results oriented environment as an Engineering Model Maker for the Industrial Engineering group.  The ideal candidate will possess a strong technical background, solid machinist skills, and manufacturing experience.  Position requires an innovative individual with the ability to work with a diverse group of associates in cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities:

· Build prototype, developmental, and pilot run mechanical parts for Engineers and Designers according to CAD files, drawings, sketches, and verbal instructions.

· Fabricate mechanical prototype and hard model parts.

· Construct prototype molds for prototype or design model plastic parts.

· Select, lay out materials, and determine most efficient methods of fabrication.

· Set up, adjust, and operate all varieties of machine shop equipment.

· Assist or instruct other employees on proper usage of model shop tools.

· Perform other related duties as assigned.

 



Required Education, Work Experience and Skills:

· Requires machinist skills and a working knowledge of shop mathematics, metal and plastic properties, and shop procedures.  Ability to work with machine shop equipment.  SurfCAM programming and CNC operation skills required.

· High school education or equivalent.  Requires substantial experience (minimum 5 years) related in model making.  CNC machine training or equivalent.  Machine apprenticeship desired.
