Manufacturing Supervisor

The Opportunity:Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories (SEL) seeks a Manufacturing Supervisor. If you have 2 years successful experience in supervising plated through-hole, printed circuit board assembly utilizing auto-insertion equipment, wave solder machines and progressive assembly methods, we invite you to consider joining our world-class manufacturing team. Assemblers, inspectors, and test technicians are trained in manufacturing and electronics technology. SEL manufacturing employs many methods to ensure that the design process output meets manufacturing operations’ needs and that there is sufficient coordination for a trouble-free and timely introduction of products. Manufacturing Supervisor – Mechanical Assembly Responsibilities: Implement SEL values and objectives in order to achieve corporate goals. Supervise production schedules, production quality and on-time delivery. Assign assembler/operator duties, establish training needs and oversee training. Define assembler/operator performance standards, review outcome of performance goals and set future targets for assemblers. Identify staffing and capital needs, collect data and write the justification for those needs. Create, update and ensure control of department work instructions and reports. Coordinate and develop new product design with engineering staff and participate in new product launches. Improve quality and delivery costs by product family. Encourage professional development of assembly/operator staff. Identify and address personnel issues. Work within established safety and quality standards. Follow and improve manufacturing area processes. Qualifications: Two years leadership experience High school diploma or G.E.D. Excellent communication and leadership skills Ability to follow detailed technical instructions Basic computer skills: Word, Excel, Access Ability to learn new skills and assume new responsibilities Ability to work cooperatively in team environmentPreferred Qualifications: College degree (BS or BA) Supervisory experience or training Advanced computer skills: Word, Excel, Access An Award Winning Company Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories, Inc.
