Fire Alarm/Security System Designer
Life Safety Systems, with headquarters in Manassas, VA has an opening for a Fire Alarm/Security System Designer. LSS is a solutions provider of low voltage electronics and life safety systems for education, healthcare, and government in the Greater Washington, D.C., Northern Virginia and Maryland areas. Since 1978, LSS has been engineering, installing and maintaining fire alarms, intercoms, security systems, nurse call systems and much more.
The responsibilities of the Fire Alarm/Security System Designer include but are not limited to:
Design various scales for Fire Alarm/Security/CCTV Projects using AutoCad
Produce Bill of Materials for the projects mentioned above
Write specifications and produce design/build jobs
Complete as-builts and respond to engineer's comments
Requirements are:
Minimum of high school diploma, but college degree a plus (preferably Electrical Engineering or Fire Protection))
NICET Certification required or PE certification
Strong understanding of Fire Alarm/Security Design
At least 5 years of Fire Alarm/Security Design experience
Capable of working on multiple projects at the same time
Must be hard working, self-starter
Must be able to work overtime when needed
