Electronics Engineer (OCXO, TCXO, VCXO)

PDI, a global leader in the industry of quartz crystal products to diversified markets incl. Military, Automotive, Telecom, Networking, & Aerospace, is seeking an experienced Oscillator Eng. at its headquarters in Middleton WI (just outside Madison-named as one of the top places to live in the Country).  You will work in a well-equipped lab & be part of a team designing state-of-the-art crystal products.

 

JOB DESCRIPTION

•Designs crystal oscillator products (OCXO, TCXO, VCXO); establishes & modifies product specifications; collaborates w/ internal engineering & external engineers on product design; conducts technical investigations of application problems.

•Interfaces w/ customers directly & through PDI Sales; works w/ suppliers & customers to establish the architecture, specification & design of products; reviews & approves customer designs & resolves customer concerns w/ products.

•Plans & manages engineering projects; develops statements of work for projects; develops project budgets; monitors & follows up on the development processes to ensure remains on schedule; tests & evaluates new products.

•Responsible for concept development; conducts research on new technologies; prepares concept drawings.

•Assists in developing & improving in-house mfg processes; develops & evaluates mfg & test strategies.

•Responsible for establishing & implementing engineering design procedures.

•Participates in design reviews.

•Provides consultation to mgt on engineering.

 

Five to seven years experience in precision oscillator development, design and testing. 

Experience in computer applications including circuit simulation, CAD, Microsoft Word & Excel.

Ability to read, create and interpret electronic schematics.

Advanced understanding of electronic concepts related to crystal oscillators

Advanced experience in crystal products design.

Ability to utilize test, measurement, and evaluation equipment including oscilloscopes, frequency counters, multimeters, etc.

Ability to assemble prototype circuit board assemblies using small tools, magnifiers, & microscopes.

Ability to solder.
