Student Finance Representative Job Description Kitchen Academy is a contemporary cooking school that provides hands-on, kitchen-only instruction in a fast-track program that values and nurtures individual creativity while providing a solid foundation for a career in the culinary field. It is the latest addition to one of the world's leading providers of post-secondary, for-profit education. Rapid expansion has created a position for a Student Finance Representative at our exciting culinary school in Seattle, Washington. We seek a high-energy, self-directed candidate to assist prospective students in realizing their career dreams. General Summary: Provide assistance and guidelines to current students and their families in the completion process of the application for financial aid. Assist students and their families in developing a financial plan in order to continue their education. Principal Duties & Responsibilities: (* Essential functions) *Complete the necessary FAFSA documents prior to the award year, including the processing of verification "C" codes resolutions *Responsible for identifying re-pack population *Ensure continuing students are packaged by the beginning of the new academic year *Ensure cash/packaged percentage is met *Provide overviews and workshops that review the application process and offer information regarding available funding *Determine financial aid eligibility and develop financing plans and review them with students and their families *Review applications and other paperwork for completeness; obtain missing documents *Provide student follow-up; resolve issues with students, parents and lenders to ensure a timely process of the loan paperwork *Ensure that all current students are properly and timely packaged according to program regulations and guidelines *Monitor student accounts and progression in their program of study; appropriately adjust student's award as needed *Monitor RBS report to ensure students are packaged to zero. Education & Knowledge: *BS/BA or equivalent work experience *Previous experience working in Financial Aid desired *Excel and Word applications Skills & Abilities: *Ability to understand tax returns preferred *Must possess strong analytical and mathematical skills *Excellent verbal and written communication skills *Organizational and time management skills *Ability to multi-task The Kitchen Academy offers a competitive base salary and excellent benefits.
