ICF International seeks a Project Manager to be responsible for the development and maintenance of Head Start and Early Head Start projects. This position reports to the Senior Vice President of the Early Education Services line of business and is based in Fairfax, VA.

The Project Manager is responsible for the strategic direction, business development and overall management of contracts, including staffing resources, budgeting, monitoring deliverables and project accomplishments, planning activities, and addressing challenges. The Project Manager will manage the deployment of Head Start experts, content specialists and regionally-aligned training and technical assistance specialists in order to deliver large-scale innovative national solutions to Head Start and related early childhood projects. They will work with other senior staff to develop and monitor work plans and budgets, balance resources and monitor performance against goals and contract requirements. A critical component of the role is to ensure quality assurance of products. The Project Manager will serve as a key liaison with client staff, and take a pro-active approach to problem-solving and communicating information internally and with the client. The Project Manager will provide regular progress reports to the ICF Senior Vice President.

A Master's Degree in early childhood or a related field, 10+ years of project management experience and expert knowledge of early care and education, human services or Head Start required. The Project Manager must have experience in managing large-scale projects, ideally with experience of Training and Technical Assistance projects and experience with Federal and State human services agencies and community based organizations. Experience within a consulting environment preferred. The candidate must possess exemplary leadership, interpersonal, collaborative, managerial, and written communication skills; demonstrate an ability to work in a fast-paced team environment; show commitment to quality assurance; be attentive to timelines; and be able to plan and manage multiple, demanding tasks under critical timeframes.
