Positive Role Models to work with Today's Adolescent Males

The Pines Residential Treatment Centers have been helping children and adolescents overcome a variety of difficulties in a therapeutic, safe and structured residential environment. We offer several distinct residential programs for youth ages 5 to 21 and have emerged as one of the largest and strongest treatment organizations for behaviorally disordered youth. Currently, The Pines is searching for positive role models to work with today's adolescent males.  There are Counselor openings at our Portsmouth facilities to work days, evenings, or over-nights as instrumental members of a treatment team.

The Counselor position works directly with children / adolescents to develop skills and techniques that help them establish behavioral self controls, healthy coping strategies and how to appropriately confront socially inappropriate aggressive, impulsive or self-destructive acts. The Counselor position ensures environment remains safe and normative culture remains positive throughout the facility. Contributes to formulation, implementation and revision of the resident's Individual Service Plan (ISP).

The Counselor position requires a rotating weekend schedule.  All staff are expected to work every other weekend for a minimum of two shifts.

Qualified individuals will possess an undergraduate degree in a related field with a commitment to working with high risk children / adolescents OR High School Diploma with 5 years related experience.

The successful candidate will also posses outstanding organizational and problem solving skills, the ability to manage multiple priorities and confidential information in a professional, time sensitive manner. Superior verbal/written communication and interpersonal skills are required along with the commitment to quality customer service.
