Medical Assisting Lab Tech
Continued growth and expansion within the South Texas Vo-Tech network has increased the demand for qualified individuals serving as Medical Assisting Laboratory Assistant. You will have a great opportunity to assist Medical Assistant instructors with hands-on skills and give assistance to students who are in training for Medical Assisting. Essential subject matter includes: -Medical Terminology/Anatomy and Physiology -Medical Assistant Procedures -Phlebotomy -Math for Allied Health -Emergency Medicine, EKG, CPR -Computer Medical Manager Success in this position requires a person to continually drive top performance through disciplined execution of the following 7 fundamentals: · Class begins and ends on time. · Absent students must be called by their instructor everyday. · Every student ‘Touches the Trade’ everyday. This means that every topic is linked to the job everyday. · Every class begins with a preview of what students will learn that day. Every class ends with a cliffhanger. · Students receive feedback about their progress at least once a week. · All lessons are planned in advance. · Teaching is not just lecturing; all students are fully engaged in every aspect of the lesson every day. High school diploma or equivalent is required. Minimum three years industry experience within past ten years is required. Previous trade school experience is a plus. Good organizational, interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills are also required. Attention to detail and mental concentration are necessary for accurately performing tasks, working under highly stressful situations, and handling frequent interruptions. Basic computer skills are required.
