Manager, Electronic Research Development and Administration

PURPOSE:

This position specifically supports the mission by being responsible for management, implementation and ongoing support of electronic research development and administration for both externally and internally funded faculty research. This position will provide technology management for the Office of the Vice Provost and its subunits OSP, BARI and TTO, as well as to other research units on campus as required by the VPR. OSP requirements will have first priority, and it is anticipated that those responsibilities will consume approximately 30% of this position.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

A Bachelor’s Degree in a related field, including academic training and/or experience in computer software development, and 5 years of relevant work experience are required.  A Master’s Degree in a related degree is preferred. The selected candidate must have demonstrated ability to manage large electronic databases and to program electronic interfaces between databases. The selected candidate must have demonstrated ability to manage large electronic databases and to program interfaces between electronic databases; demonstrated project management skills; ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions; ability to communicate effectively with research sponsors, faculty and staff in a cooperative and fully responsible manner; ability to multi-task, prioritize numerous responsibilities which have university-wide impact; ability to interpret and apply an extensive variety of technical instructions; and ability to work under the stress and pressure of imminent internal and external deadlines in a calm, efficient, and confident manner.  Interested persons are asked to please submit a resume and letter of interest along with the Baylor application form.
