Library Director
The Bulverde/Spring Branch library is a rapidly growing Library District with a collection of about 45,000 and circulation of about 150,000 in the rural area of Bulverde and Spring Branch just north of San Antonio. The Library has just moved into a new 18,000 square foot building.
The District is looking for a Library Director. The Director will handle the administrative, commercial and external business aspects of the Library and create and amend such policies and procedures as will be required. Long term planning, forecasting, budgeting and implementing new programs are also part of the job.
The Director will hire and if necessary remove, supervise and see to the training of staff who will handle the day to day routine library operations of the circulation desk, collection development and weeding, children’s programs, financial activities and other normal library functions as they arise. Strong administrative and leadership skills and the ability to delegate are required. The ability to work with a large group of volunteers, Friends of the Library and the District’s Board of Trustees is also necessary.
