Externship Coordinator

The Externship Coordinator must work effectively with students and the cooperating facilities to help promote a successful externship experience. The Externship Coordinator is responsible for assuring that the activities assigned to students in the clinical setting are appropriate and include and opportunity to perform various administrative and clinical duties as prescribed in the various Allied Health programs.   Performance Responsibilities:     The Extern Coordinator is responsible for a variety of administrative tasks to support the Institute of Health Careers under the direction of the Program Director. This may include a part-time to full-time instruction and any other duties that may apply.   Externship Externship reports, clinical rotations, graduation lists, attendance reports, grade rosters. Responsible for overseeing the operations of setting up externship sites. Advice and Assist students in this process. Responsible for tracking students while out on externships or during a community venture. Responsible for weekly visits with clinical supervisors and students at externship sites. Responsible for advising externship students and sponsors while at sites, for any problems and concerns. Responsible for tracking attendance of extern students while at externship sites. Responsible for maintaining and updating externship packets for students and sponsors. Responsible for all signed contracts and affiliations for externship sites. Responsible for completion of student files upon exit interview.   Advisory Liaison with all Health Careers students. Responsible for coordinating new educational criteria with the Program Director.   Instructor Responsibilities Half class to full class load to be determined by the Program Director. Prepare courses 1.  write lecture 2.  prepare handouts 3.  create tests 4.  grade assignments 5.  monitor attendance 6.  keep current in field and education techniques   Credentials 1.  Maintain all required credentials   Skills 1.  Customer Service 2.  Medical Terminology 3.  Medical Law & Ethics 4.  Classroom Management 5.  Administrative and Microsoft Skills 6.  CAAHEP compliance based knowledge   Education: RMA or AAMA certified Minimum 5 years experience
