Director of Admissions Operations
The Enrollment Division of Westminster College seeks a confident and self-motivated professional for the newly created position of Director of Admissions Operations. Our new Director will lead new technology initiatives and direct all office operations related to meeting recruitment goals, including application and data processing, data analysis and reporting, and print and electronic communications campaigns.
Reporting to the Vice President for Enrollment, the director is a key member of a strong and high performing lead team (comprised of the Directors of Undergraduate Admission, Graduate Admissions, Web Marketing, and Financial Aid). The Director will share in the strategic development and execution of data-driven recruitment initiatives, will direct the day-to-day administrative operations and processes of the admissions office (especially lead management and print and electronic communication flow), will supervise the operations staff, and will ensure exemplary customer service.
Other responsibilities include:
Developing and monitoring accurate and timely statistical reports to enhance recruitment strategies, yield management, forecasting, and operational efficiency. Assisting with on-going assessment and evaluation of data and trends in admissions. Researching, recommending and leading any transition from present technology to a new prospect management/application system. Liaisons with IT in developing, implementing, maintaining, and demonstrating new technologies to better serve Admissions. Serves on and works closely with college-wide committees concerning enrollment management and new technologies such as electronic transcripts, imaging, etc. Documenting and improving policies and procedures. Develops, coordinates and facilitates staff training.
Qualifications: A baccalaureate degree is required and at least 5 years of experience and progressive responsibility in college admission and recruitment, financial aid, student services or other applicable professional career that demonstrates understanding of new student recruitment systems and operations or familiarity with marketing operations and sales support practices. Ideal candidates will be team oriented, highly organized, energetic, and possess excellent public speaking and report-writing skills; strong analytical skills; significant experience and proficiency with information technologies including database management and web-based initiatives. Supervisory experience with strong communication and conflict resolution skills is required, as is demonstrated ability to work independently with professional judgment, meet deadlines, and manage multiple priorities in a fast paced, and increasingly technical environment. Experience with "lean" theory and practice is a plus. This position requires significant night / evening / weekend hours during seasonal peaks.
