The UVM James M. Jeffords Center is a newly established center whose mission is to provide high-quality research and analysis required to promote effective policy decisions in education, the environment, health care, and government. The Jeffords Center is seeking an experienced individual for the position of Director, who will provide oversight for the Center and will report to the Senior VP and Provost. The individual will direct operational, administrative, management and programmatic functions and will represent UVM and the Jeffords Center to diverse public and private interests and audiences at local, regional, national, and international levels to ensure the advancement of UVM's growing role as a leader in informing public policy decisions through its research-based activities. The Director will be charged to develop and implement a long- term vision for a financially-sustainable future of the Center to ensure viability beyond the initial grant. Master's degree in specialized field and five to six years related or relevant experience required, or an equivalent combination. Demonstrated management and administrative experience required. Effective leadership and visionary skills; successful administrative experiences in building and leading research activities; ability to work effectively in local, state, federal, and corporate communities; and capacity to generate partnerships and support research activities.
