Catering Lead Worker

StatusFull-time, mid-August to mid-May annually exclusive of academic break periods.  Schedule to be determined and subject to change depending on departmental needs.  May require some overtime hours.  Summer hours may be available.

DepartmentDining & Conference Services

Responsibilities Oversees setup, service, staffing and cleanup of all on-campus catered events (meals and break services).  Works with Director and Assistant Director to plan and implement functions and special events. Supervises service floor during events and serves as first line contact with customers with operational issues/concerns. Interviews, hires, trains, and evaluates performance of catering staff (both regular and student staff).  Maintains a safe and sanitary work environment. Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications Two years of directly related work experience. Exceptional customer service and organizational skills, knowledge of service etiquette and table settings, valid driver's icense, and supervisory experience also required. Must be able to secure a health card for food handling within 30 days of hire, stand for long periods and lift 45+ pounds. AA degree in hotel/restaurant hospitality or related field preferred.

Compensation Hiring range is $13.32-$15.15 per hour. Generous benefits package includes meal allowance, medical insurance, dental insurance, educational benefits, and non-contributory retirement plan.
