GENERAL SUMMARY:
Responsible for providing professional program supervision and curriculum development, evaluation, systematic planning, supervision of instruction, research design and data analysis, community relations, formal proposals at federal, state, and local level, finance and budgeting consultation services within a developed personal philosophy of education utilizing contemporary educational strategies for meeting the educational needs of the students who attend the educational institution.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Establishes flow chart for new program proposals and implement procedures under the following objectives:
a. maintains the quality and integrity of programs.
b. determines the validity of the need for a new educational program.
c. encourages the admission of students who would most likely benefit from the program.
d. Acquaints all students with course program requirements including specific objectives, means of attaining them, and methods of evaluation.
2. Uses a variety of instructional methods and media designed to reach students of varying educational and experiential backgrounds and learning styles.
3. Allows the student to assess progress.
4. Allows sufficient time and opportunity for each student to master the objectives of each course.
5. Develops and revises curriculum and instructional materials; adheres to course outlines and insures teachers provide students with a course syllabus.
6. Assists in the selection of course materials equipment and educational technology
7. Serves as academic advisor and provides appropriate leadership and supervision of student activities.
8. Makes provisions for students to evaluate instructions and submits evaluations to designated office.
9. Supervises and implements all areas of departmental responsibility on proposing programs, projects and exhibiting professional guidance in their implementation; develops and participates on committees in an effective, timely manner; works with other professional staff member to accomplish the goals of the school.
10. Assists in the evaluation and selection of additional staff members.Contributes to the governance of the school through active service on committees and through participation in meetings.
11. Participates in professional development seminars and activities to enhance professional development; accepts the responsibility for professional awareness and growth among faculty.
12. Conducts independent research activities appropriate to curriculum development and data analysis in a systematic way; promote formal proposals for program development.
13. Provides written proposals to appropriate review committees and the Office of the President.
14. Supervises finance and budget activities provided by various funding agencies under direction of the President
15. Develops and provides a personal philosophy of education utilizing contemporary educational strategies for meeting the needs of students who attend the institution.
16. Provides direct supervision to consultants who provide professional contract services to the institution.
17. Advises School President of any discrepancies or irregularities in a timely manner.
