Assistant Director of Nursing

Medical Careers Institute at ECPI Technical College has been a premier provider of educational programs for the health care industry since 1978. We are currently seeking a dynamic leader in the Nursing profession to teach and assist our Director of Nursing in the administration and management of our Nursing Program. The Assistant Director of Nursing Education is responsible to the Director of Nursing and Campus Director for the administration and quality of education of the Nursing Program at their assigned campus. Responsibilities include:•Conducting instruction in an interactive, hands on environment, that supports and is conducive to delivery of quality collegiate education.•Use of current hands-on technologies used in the nursing profession to include a variety of simulation equipment as well as technical use of computer applications in the delivery of education•Coordinating the development, implementation, evaluation, and revision of the Nursing program curriculum•Assist in the Hiring, mentoring, supervising and evaluation of Nursing faculty•Coordination of clinical experiences as well as actively seeking new clinical agencies/facilities•Assist in the planning graduation and capping ceremonies•In the absence of the DON, interview all student applicants of the Nursing ProgramQualifications:Education/Certification•Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing•Current license in the state of Virginia•Bachelors Degree required, Masters of Science degree in Nursing preferredExperience•Two years management experience•Registered Nurse with specialized preparation•Prior teaching experience preferred•Experience in staff development and staff mentoringSkills and Abilities•Off site travel to clinical sites required•Ability to create and maintain relationships•Motivated, self-starter•Excellent oral and written communication skills •Ability to organize and prioritize work flow •Ability to meet deadlines•Ability to work independently•Excellent computer skills •Problem-solving abilityWhat does Medical Careers Institute at ECPI Technical College have to offer?•Professional work environment •Student centered, hands-on learning environment•Talented and committed co-workers•Competitive compensation & benefits planMedical Careers Institute at ECPI Technical College is proud to be an Equal Opportunity EmployerAbility to meet deadlines,Ability to multi-taskAdditional Information:Travel Percentage: 10%
