Tax Director to V.P

Our fortune 500 client is in a global industry, not in public accounting, has the following opening for senior tax manager.  This is a director level position which will become a V.P due to someone retiring. It will be responsible for overall leadership for all federal income tax compliance and tax accounting matters for company’s U.S. operations and related ventures. Primary purpose of the position is the effective use of company’s tax compliance resources with the objectives of : Timely filing of all tax returns and reports in compliance with all applicable tax statutes, regulations, and procedures; Development of tax accounting reporting and planning procedures in response to tax legislative/regulatory policy; Development of tax data/accounting procedures for internal use within companys Administrative support and documentation for company’s federal income tax audits Coordination and review of company’s federal income tax provision and quarterly disclosures under FAS 109 and FIN 48 as well as IFRS Preparation and coordination of effective tax rate and cash tax forecasts. Supervises a staff of 10, including a manager and supervisor. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting required. Advanced degree a plus; CPA preferred; Minimum of fifteen years experience in federal, state, and local taxation, including significant compliance, tax accounting and analysis experience. Other advanced degrees in taxation or certificates (JD-Law; Masters of Tax; CPA) are desirable. Excellent interpersonal, analytical, negotiation, managerial and leadership skills. In-depth knowledge of personal computers and tax-viable software and systems applications. Experience with SAP and Corptax databases a plus. Strong working knowledge of partnership taxation principles. Strong financial accounting skills.
