Project Estimator

In addition to sales offices in North America, the company has a sales presence in Italy, Switzerland, Hong Kong and Belgium to serve global customers.Develop and or supervise detailed cost estimates for all phases of projects: Conceptual, Feasibility, Approve for Expenditures (AFE) and Definitive.Provide overall estimating support to both Flint Hills Resources (FHR) and contractor personnel.Assist in controlling capital investment costs by providing estimating for project engineering & construction.Maintain estimating database and other cost estimating tools.Facilitate project estimate reviews.Participate in risk analysis meetings and develop risk analysis matrix and mitigation plan.Assist Execution Coordinators and Project Managers in developing execution plans.Participate in pre-bid kick-off meetings prior to start of construction.Monitor area contractor workforce and wage rates.Develop Key Measurable Quantities (KMQs) database utilizing historical data and industry data.Prioritize and manage estimating backlog.Work with project team to align AFE estimates with control budgets.Establish bid log for keeping track of outside contractor bids and estimates .Work Experience & Skills Required:Experience (5+ years) in cost estimating Experienced in using estimating software tools. Skilled in the application of computer software (Excel, Word) Good communication (oral and written) and interpersonal skills. Education Required:High School Diploma or equivalentWork Experience & Skills Preferred:Extensive experience (10+ years) in cost estimating, scheduling and cost engineering in a Refinery or Petrochemical facility.Experienced in using ICARUS IPM, KBASE estimating software.Ability to oversee the execution of multiple project estimating initiatives simultaneously.Skilled in the applications of Primavera, and/or Microsoft Project Experience in applying conceptual estimating theories and techniques.Experience in using decision analysis and probability tools for applying contingency and risk mitigation.Education Preferred:AA in Engineering Technology or BS in Mechanical, Civil / Structural or General Engineering.Physical Demands:Job walks Compensation/Benefits Competitive wages and benefits packages commensurate with experience.
