Production Supervisor - Meat Processing Plant

Summary/Responsibilities of this position:

This position is located in the Meat Plant at the San Antonio Retail Support Center (I-35 & Rittiman) and will report to the Operations Leader and Plant Leader. Responsibilities of this position are to provide effective leadership to a team of 20-30 production Partner's (employees). Provide operational execution and planning to insure the absolute best service and quality to our retail customers are met. (Depending on the candidate pool, applicants who do not meet the qualifications for a Team Leader will be considered for the "Training Team Leader Role" of Associate Team Leader. This program does not typically run longer than one year from the day of entry. Compensation is commensurate with the position).

Accountabilities of this position include:Applies subject matter knowledge to routine and moderately complex issuesSupervises a tactical team engaged in supporting the day-to-day efforts of the departmentProvides expertise to departmental teams and participates in cross-departmental initiativesProvides coaching, training and development and motivation to the PartnersHandles critical and day-to-day tactical issues independently with little to no supervisionMonitors compliance with internal practices and external policies, procedures and guidelinesProvides input on staffing levels and participates in sourcing and interviewing of candidatesEnsures compliance with work instructions, standards and product specificationsExecutes production schedule to ensure on-time delivery in an efficient and effective mannerPrepares communication plans to achieve team goals to leadershipMonitor and adjust labor requirements to balance staffing levels and overtime cost

 

Requirements:

·  Bachelors degree in Animal Science, Meat Science, Food Science or a minimum of one to three years of manufacturing leadership/supervision experience

·  Experience working in a High Performance Work Team environment

·  Good knowledge and compliance: Industry, EEOC and Employment Laws

·  Strong multitasking and attention to detail skills required

·  Good analytical ability & decision making skills as demonstrated through handling special projects  

  or assignments

·  Strong leadership skills with proven ability in coaching & developing others

·  Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and written

·  Demonstrated proficiency with operating internal and external software systems at an intermediate

   level

·  Demonstrated flexibility and capability to learn in a fast paced environment

·  Ability to motivate others and establish challenging team/individual goals

·  Experience in team training, developing others, and team facilitation

·  Proven ability to work a flexible schedule to include days, nights, weekends, and holidays
