Operations Technician, Asphalt - Green Bay, WI

In addition to sales offices in North America, the company has a sales presence in Italy, Switzerland, Hong Kong and Belgium to serve global customers.• Boiler operation• Quality control testing on asphalt cement• Forklift operation• Mixing of chemical solutions• Perform valve switching for tank line-ups• Load finished product• Unload raw materials• Perform routine minor maintenance and adjustments on equipment• Opening and closing valves• Inspecting process piping and equipment• Reading and recording process flow, pressure, temperature and level measurements• Gather samples from sample valves• Drum handling• Basic computer-based tasks• General maintenance which includes: pipe fitting; bolting/un-bolting equipment; insulating piping and tanks; cleaning equipment; recycling pump seal drips; strainer and filter cleaning and other tasks as determined by managementJob Requirements: • Proficient computer skills (Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word • Excellent verbal and written communication skills • Valid driver's license • Excellent critical thinking and decision making skills • Good organizational skills • Willingness to work shift work when necessary and be on-call for after hours support • Ability to work at elevated heights • Ability to safely lift at least 75 lbs • Ability to climb ladders and storage tank stairs (stairs/ladders may have ice and snow during winter months) for maintenance and gauging operations• Willingness to work outdoors in adverse weather conditions • Willingness to wear fire retardant clothing, as required • Willingness to utilize Personal Protective Equipment (e.g. hard hat, safety glasses, fire retardant clothing, safety work boots) • Willingness to travel occasionally (with overnight stays) for attending training, meetings and assisting other areas or locations Experience Preferred:• Ideal candidates will have prior experience with asphalt products and/or oil and gas industry; maintenance; machinery operations; boiler operation and laboratory testing • Terminal Operations experience Education Required:• High School Diploma or equivalentEducation Preferred:• Some college or technical training in industrial mechanics • 2 year college degree Compensation/Benefits Competitive wages and benefits packages commensurate with experience.
