Operations Manager
Spherion, in partnership with our client, is seeking an Outstanding Operations Manager to be a part of their team in Washington County, Vermont. OPERATIONS MANAGER Reporting to the President, the Operations Manager is responsible for the branch’s day-to-day total operations and oversees all departments. Position is also responsible for obtaining profit contribution by managing staff; establishing and accomplishing business objectives. Duties: Increases management's effectiveness by recruiting, selecting, orienting, training, coaching, counseling and managing branch's three supervisors; communicating values, strategies, and objectives; assigning accountabilities; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results; developing a climate for offering information and opinions; providing educational opportunities. Assists General Manager with developing strategic plan by studying technological and financial opportunities; presenting assumptions; recommending objectives. Accomplishes subsidiary objectives by establishing plans, budgets, and results measurements; allocating resources; reviewing progress; making mid-course corrections. Coordinates effort by overseeing Accounts Receivable, Customer Service, Warehouse, Inventory Control, Service, Administration, Shipping and Receiving, and, Drivers; coordinating actions with staff. Builds company image by collaborating with customers, government, community organizations, and employees; enforcing ethical business practices. Maintains quality service by establishing and enforcing organization standards. Maintains professional and technical knowledge by reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; benchmarking state-of-the-art practices; participating in professional societies. Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed. Specifics Inventory Control: having the “right” inventory at the “right” place at the “right” time. Clearing out “inactive” inventory promptly via discount pricing. Warehouse management and truck assignment and routing are as effective and efficient as possible.· Having properly trained, courteous, and well motivated employees who are oriented to “safety first”.· Maintaining facilities and equipment in a first class manner.· Ensure that data, such as pricing, is current and accurate.· Compliance with government legislation.· Following Company procedures. Skills/Qualifications:At least seven years of experience in Performance Management, Staffing, Management Proficiency, Coordination, Coaching, Developing Standards, Financial Planning and Strategy, Process Improvement, Decision Making, Strategic Planning, Quality Management. Bachelors degree required.
