Graphic Designer

Essential duties and responsibilities include:

The Graphic Designer/Production Artist will have the primary responsibility to assist in the graphic production of retail packaging, visual merchandising, and marketing collateral in a fast-paced environment; use knowledge of current graphic design software to produce basic layouts for marketing department; must have working knowledge of how to prepare files for final output to vendors; generate and manipulates graphic images.  This position will be responsible for the following, but not limited to:

· Assures all work is delivered on time and to specifications as detailed in the creative brief or change order

· Solves design and visual communication problems in a variety of formats while maintaining consistency

· Assures all work is in keeping with the tone and manner of the original concept and/or the over-all brand positioning by working closely with department managers

· Prepares materials/discs for the printer and selects all specifications for each project

· Adheres to established marketing department standards and procedures

· Researches brand competitive environment

 

Ideal candidate will possess:

· Must have a minimum of a 2 year degree in Graphic Design or related field. 

· Prior experience working in a graphic design department for a consumer products company with specific knowledge and skills in project management and preparing final artwork for production.

· Ability to perform both production work and conceptual work

· Fluency in Quark Xpress, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, Microsoft Excel and Word.  Working knowledge of InDesign, PowerPoint and various support programs.

· Ability to work in fast paced environment while meeting tight deadlines.  Rough illustrations or sketching ability desired.
