Painter Supervisor/Painters

Dixie Construction is seeking qualified applicants to fill the following positions:  PAINTER SUPERVISOR, LEAD PAINTER, & PAINTERS.  Dixie Construction is an expanding, progressive, family-owned business specializing in new and existing construction projects.  Our expansion provides great opportunities to build your career, become a member of our friendly, dynamic construction team, and grow as we grow.  Below are the qualifications for the above positions.

  PAINTER SUPERVISOR--Qualified applicants must possess a high school diploma or GED, 8 years of commercial painting experience of which 3 years must have been in a supervisory type role, a thorough knowledge of the standard practices, methods, tools, and materials of the painting trade, experience preparing accurate estimates of time and materials required for paint projects, ability to read & interpret blueprints, must hold a valid driver's license, and must be DRUG FREE.  Responsibilities will include planning, assigning, and reviewing the work performed by subordinate paint crews, preparing estimates for proposed jobs, keeping records of labor and material costs, hiring and interviewing applicants for paint crews, coordinating work at a variety of geographically separated locations, performing periodic inspections of work in progress and completed work, and supervising subordinate painters and helpers in a manner conducive to full performance and high morale.  The successful candidate must be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, & Outlook Express, have outstanding written and verbal communication skills, must pay strong attention to detail, able to adapt quickly to change, and be willing to travel. LEAD PAINTER--Qualified applicants must possess a high school diploma or GED, 5 years of commercial painting experience of which 2 years must have been in a supervisory type role, a thorough knowledge of the standard practices, methods, tools, and materials of the painting trade, a valid drivers license, and must be DRUG FREE.  The successful candidate must be able to supervise a crew of 3-5 painters/painter helpers in a manner conducive to full performance ce & high morale, ability to work at considerable height on scaffolding, must be skilled in the use and operation of spry guns, paintbrushes, and other paint equipment.  The applicant must be a skilled painter with knowledge of supervisory principles and practices, and must be willing to travel. PAINTER/PAINTER HELPER--Qualified applicants must possess a high school diploma or GED, 1 year of commercial painting experience, a general knowledge of the paint trade, hold a valid drivers license, and must be DRUG FREE.  Applicants must also be able to understand and follow verbal and written instructions, able to work at heights on scaffolding, be able to operate and use paint equipment, and be willing to travel.
