System Engineers in M.C. Dean, Inc.’s Applied Technologies Group are experienced and motivated professionals who provide complete lifecycle engineering support for Federal Government design/build projects in the field of electronic security systems (e.g., IDS, ACS, CCTV, DVR, LAN, CBRNE, etc.). Projects are critical to the protection of important Government assets and homeland security.Required Skills
The following is a list of specific duties performed by the Systems Engineer.Meet with customers to evaluate and analyze customer needs, objectives, and requirements. Define and develop system architecture, system concept of operations (CONOPS), interface/integration requirements, and verification/validation test procedures.Coordinate with integrated, multidisciplinary product teams to develop functional requirements, system designs, and other project submittals.Define, analyze, and apply system requirements from concept definition through verification/validation testing.Develop alternative system design concepts, feasibility and trade-off studies, and value-added engineering.Maintain knowledge of current industry product offerings and research new emerging technologies. Perform technical, schedule, and interface change impact assessment for cost, schedule, performance, operational concept and procedural update. Assist in problem resolution and technical troubleshooting when field support is needed.Required Experience
The Systems Engineer must be a detail-oriented professional with the following skill sets:Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical, Electronic, or Computer Engineering from an accredited institution. Minimum of 10 years of work experience in a related technical field, and a minimum of 5 years of system engineering experience in the security industry.Strong general engineering acumen (security, electronics, communications, electrical, mechanical, construction, and IT networking).Ability to meet deadlines and handle multiple tasks independently, on schedule.Strong interpersonal and communication skills (oral and written).Ability to work in a high-velocity environment managing multiple tasks while maintaining attention to detail and workmanship quality.Strong computer skills and a proficiency in AutoCAD, Microsoft Office Suite, must be able to learn new applications quickly.Knowledge of engineering drawing and design standards and practices.Strong desire for continuous learning and professional education.Applicants selected will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.Working knowledge and/or certification with security manufacturers such as Lenel, MDI, Software House, Loronix, NICEVision, and Ultrak is a plus.Working knowledge of CBRNE security protection is a plus.Current Certified Protection Professional (CPP) certification from the American Society of Industrial Security (ASIS) is a plus.MSCE and/or MCSD certification is a plus.Qualified candidates should apply online with resume and salary requirements to:M.C.
