Engineering Manager - Industrial Refrigeration

 Job Purpose:    The Engineering Manager-IR is responsible for planning, implementing and directing all engineering and document control activities within the Industrial Refrigeration Division.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

 

  Provides overall planning and direction of all engineering functions, document control and personnel for the Division in accordance with company policy.

  Reviews, approves and implements all engineering standards, policies and procedures

  Provides technical engineering input for estimating and bid proposal requirements

  Directs and monitors all personnel activities within engineering area including manpower forecasting, hiring, promoting, terminating, appraising and assigning.

  Provides interpretation of all external codes, regulations, specifications and the like.  Acts as senior technical person for the Division.

  Insures required certificates, permits, stamps, etc. are secured and maintained as required.

  Plans and formulates engineering program and organizes project staff according to project requirements.

  Assigns project personnel to specific phases or aspects of projects such as technical studies, design, preparation of specifications and technical plans.

  Reviews plans for compliance with engineering principles, company standards, customer contract requirement and related specifications.

  

  Directs integration of technical activities and evaluates and approves design changes, specifications and drawing releases.

  Plans and establishes engineering schedules and follows up performance against estimates.

  Manages and trains an engineering team and coordinates activities of engineering department to design industrial refrigeration systems.

 Requirements:

            Four year engineering degree or equivalent combinations of engineering training and experience.  Minimum of ten years related construction engineering and design experience required.  Extensive knowledge of engineering and design techniques plus a thorough understanding of all engineering disciplines.  Must be able to analyze complex engineering problems.  Excellent communication, leadership and organizational skills essential.  Professional registration preferred.
