Sr VoIP Systems Engineer

Position summary:You will be responsible for installing, configuring, and monitoring, and maintaining a VoIP Platform. You must have the ability to work independently with your lead. You will be required to work with other departments at Speakeasy to ensure our servers and services meet the needs of the company. Responsibilities:• Design, secure, install, monitor, maintain and document all of our VoIP related platforms • Scheduling and reporting on your activities. • Assisting with the development of new products. • Assisting with code releases; troubleshooting issues that do or do not relate to code releases; testing and accepting code changes • Documentation of architecture, design, procedures, checklists, and other system related documentation. • Monitoring traffic usage for customers (web and shell servers) and identifying potential problems • Participation and scheduling of on-call shift coverage Skills and experience required:• Bachelors degree in EE/CS or related experience • 5-7 years overall VoIP systems experience • Understanding of VoIP Softswitch architecture • Knowledge of SIP, RTP • Understanding of Session Border Controllers • Basic understanding of CALEA, and E-91-1 requirements • Prior experience with softswitches is preferred • Detailed Linux, and Solaris OS knowledge, be familiar with the interaction between servers and services in the present network. • Basic UNIX shell scripting knowledge • Good organizational skills, ability to take ownership of complicated issues and ability to prioritize based on immediate needs • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, ability to train users in applications and UNIX fundamentals, and the writing of basic documentation • Solid Documentation Skills • Some travel required Additional Information:Speakeasy offers a full suite of benefits, including full medical, dental, and vision coverage (100% paid for employees); a 401(K) plan with a company matching contribution; a transportation benefit; and many other excellent perks.
